FIELD: engine engineering. SUBSTANCE: combustion chamber is positioned in bottom 3 of piston 4. Hollow 7 is made in side wall 6 of the top part 5 of combustion chamber 2. The hollows are separated by ribs 8. The number of ribs is twice the number of openings 13 of nozzle 12. The ratio of radial size of hollow 7 to a distance between opposite ribs 8 is equal to 0.05-0.09. Axes 14 of spraying openings 13 point to hollow 7. The hollows are bounded by smoothly conjugated cylindrical surface 15 with torus-like surface 16. The later surface and the wall of bottom part 9 of combustion chamber 2 define a step having 90-120° angle. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 5 dwg
