FIELD: production of aluminium oxide particles. SUBSTANCE: aqueous paste of solid compounds (their quantity being 15-50 mass %) is prepared. Said solid compounds are represented by highly roasted aluminium oxide (85-99 mass %) and by material containing highly crushed aluminium alpha-oxide and/or clay (1-15 mass %). Said paste is affected by spray drying followed by heat treatment and by deagglomeration. Mentioned above heat treatment is carried out at temperature being lower than melting point of the material. According to other variant of desired particles production hydrated aluminium oxide is heated to transform into aluminium gamma-oxide, at least 90 % of bound water being removed. Thus prepared particles are applied on gas carrier to achieve at least their partial melting and desired properties. Desired particles have surface value less 1 m2/g, wear strength is less 0.3 mass %, their average size being 30-110 1,9 g/cm3. Content of aluminium oxide is at least 98.5 mass %.
