FIELD: medical engineering; traumatology and orthopedics; devices for attaching osteosynthetic structures to bone or fastening together bone fractures. SUBSTANCE: this screw includes threaded rod and head having slit, recesses in its walls and depressions communicating via passages with either lateral surface or base of screw head. Device for driving in screw incorporates rod, handle, attachment fitting whose shape is congruent with that of screw head slit and gripping mechanism including clutch and slotted bushing having threaded connection for longitudinally moving over rod which has protrusion disposed in bushing's slit. Free end portion of bushing has annular toothed support on its face for positioning support teeth in screw recesses. Screw retainer has cleat whose shape is congruous to that of screw head slit and tongues fastened to cleat and disposed in screw head passages. EFFECT: more sophisticated design. 4 cl, 14 dwg
