FIELD: plastic metal working. SUBSTANCE: unit for forming parts with an elastic medium comprises container with cylindrical equal-height elastic cushion and a forming block aligned with bolster. Elastic cushion is made as three circular layers with the radius of the central layer equal to the thicknesses of the second and third layers in radial direction. The strength of elastic materials of individual layers is found from the relations H₂= (1,15-1,19)H₁, H₃= (1,33-1,35)H₁, where H₁ - hardness of central layer; H₂ - hardness of intermediate layer; H₃ - hardness of peripheral layer.
