FIELD: ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has collector 1 with pipelines 2, that are introduced in clearance 3, formed by stack shell and plate-type coolers 5 in lower part of stack, in zone of maximum heat loadings on plate-type coolers. Clearance over and below the zone is filled with fire-proof mastic 6 ( or back fill), using common process during blast-furnace erection. Clearance is connected with gas-conducting passages 7, made inclined in fire-proof lining. Along all the height of clearance vertical partitions 8 are mounted, dividing it for ring-type sections. Arc of each section embraces 2 - 4 coolers. Pipelines, that are feeding cooling gas to ring-type sections of clearance, are provided with adjusting device 10. Device feeds cooling gas into working space of blast-furnace, in which ring-type stream with lower temperature is formed. The stream, going up along fire-proof lining, lowers temperature of furnace gas on its contact surface and so lowers chemical activity of charge liquid members interaction with fire-proof material. Cooling gas, passing through clearance, additionally cools furnace stack shell. EFFECT: apparatus to protect and cool blast-furnace stack is used in ferrous metallurgy. 2 cl, 2 dwg
