FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: 30-50 % of total lime used is charged over the early liquid slag, after which the convertor is inclined at 70-80 degrees away from its vertical axis to be shaken two or three times. Then the substantial mass of the remainder is drained for the convertor to be shaken two or three times again keeping it inclined at the same angle. The process is followed by charging scrap, adding liquid pig iron into the convertor, lancing oxygen and introducing the remaining lime. EFFECT: higher efficiency.
