FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, particularly, methods of steel melting in oxygen converters by monoprocess. SUBSTANCE: method includes introduction into converter during processing of vanadium iron, of knocked out lining of electrolysis baths of aluminium production in amount of 10-40 kg/t of steel by portions. The first portion is introduced into bottom of converter, on remained slag form previous heat in amount of 60-90% of its weighed portion. The remaining amount is introduced upon lapse of 10-95% of blowing time. Additional amount of said knocked out lining may be introduced in case metal temperature prior to steel discharge is below the required value. After this, metal is blown with oxygen as required. EFFECT: reduced harmful effluents to shop atmosphere, increased fraction of scrap in iron charge and higher stability of converter lining. 2 cl, 1 tbl
