FIELD: textile industry. SUBSTANCE: certain deformation (both longitudinal and lateral) of the roll shell is prescribed with the aid of rigid rings spaced along the roll inside the shell. The rings can act on the shell or get disengaged due to the gaps between the outer and inner parts of the rings, in which balls are positioned. Ball axial motion required for control of the ring action is transmitted by means of a separator from the control air chamber connected to the compressed air source.
