FIELD: compressor engineering. SUBSTANCE: ring closed-loop space is provided above the working edges of working wheel blades. The space is connected with flowing part of the compressor through passages of a grid defined by slots and plates. If a pressure drop occurs between zones above the inlet edges of the working wheel blades and in front of them, gas flows to the ring space from the zone above the wheel through the slots and next to the flowing part of the compressor upstream of the wheel.
