FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: solid garbage and waste products containing carbon and its compounds, metals and metal oxides are charged into a bath with melted slag: the bath is blown through with oxygen-containing gas in the condition of oiling by splashing. Melting is accomplished. In the initial stage of melting blowing-through with oxygen-containing gas is conducted at a weight relation with charged waste product within 1/3 to 1/7. Gases produced in the initial and final stages are subjected to separate cleaning. EFFECT: facilitated procedure. 2 tbl
