FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method includes charging of sulfide raw material through furnace arch, uniform supply of oxygen over furnace length into melt through lances, and measurement of melt temperature tch in zone of charge. During feed of raw material, melt cooling tcool=topt-tch is determined and with ratio tcool:topt>0,08, oxygen is additionally fed through lances located in charge zone to restore optimal temperature topt. EFFECT: higher efficiency of furnace and prevention of formation of wall accretion.
