FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: in the beginning of slag running out of furnace, as slag level achieves level of ladle top, that corresponds to thickness of furnace arch, that is sufficient for metal thermal insulation, threshold from cooled slag is created on slag surface near discharging baffle by feeding water to threshold areas, sprayed by air. Intensity of cooling is easy controlled by changing of amount of water. Streams of water are directed from working site with vibration along the whole diameter of ladle. Cooling by water is terminated at the moment slag running out of the furnace stops. EFFECT: Method to separate slag and metal in ladle is used in metallurgy. 2 dwg
