FIELD: measurement of sizes and form of man's foot. SUBSTANCE: method involves putting foot on supporting platform; illuminating foot surface with flat light beams; obtaining image of light beam track separately for inner and outer side surfaces of foot by means of two television cameras, whose optical axes are extending at acute angles with respect to supporting surface and flat light beams; sighting of foot at the side adjacent to television cameras, which are turned to heel portion of foot. Television camera optical axes projection onto supporting surface defines an angle with apex oriented toward heel portion side of foot and positioned at the point disposed on angle bisector projection between camera optical axes onto supporting surface. Heel portion of foot is coincided with predetermined reference point on angle bisector projection by means of heel thrust. EFFECT: increased precision of measurement and enhanced reliability in operation. 4 dwg
