AXIAL ACTION CUMULATIVE TORPEDO Russian patent published in 1995 - IPC

FIELD: restoration and repairs of drilling holes. SUBSTANCE: torpedo, having the detonator 6, the intermediate detonating member 4 and the bursting charge 2 of an explosive matter with a cumulative recess and the lining 3, arranged in the sealed metallic body 1 with the fairing 5, setting a focal distance, also includes the metallic nozzle 7 in the form of a truncated cone, whose large base rests upon a base of the lining. The nozzle 7 is made of material with an acoustic rigidity being no less, than an acoustic rigidity of a material of the lining, made of copper with conicity angle 50-70 degrees in combination with the fairing 5, setting the focal distance, equal to 2-4 diameters of the bursting charge. The torpedo includes in addition the inner annular insert 8, made of material with a high acoustic rigidity such as molybdenum, tantalum, uranium or tungsten alloy, placed in an annular turning inside of the body in a zone, being adjacent to a base of the cumulative recess. The intermediate detonating member is in the form of detonation distributor, allowing to initiate the bursting charge along a ring with a width 2-10 mm, having an outer diameter, equal to a diameter of the charge in an initiation plane.
