FIELD: engine engineering. SUBSTANCE: mechanism for converting reciprocation of the cylinder piston to rotation of the crankshaft kinematically connects the rod of the cylinder piston with the crankpin of the crankshaft and is constructed as a link. The converting mechanism is defined by arc-like groove made in the rod and crankpin of the crankshaft which is received in the groove and moves inside it when rod moves and shaft rotates. As a result, when gas pressure in the combustion chamber reaches its maximum, the crankpin is at the maximum distance from the longitudinal axis of the rod that causes maximal torque for rotating the crankshaft. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 3 cl, 5 dwg
