FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: internal combustion engine (ICE) includes housing (1), cylinders (2), balance arms (6), compression chambers (10), pistons (3) and crankshaft (8). Cylinders are uniformly located at tangents to circles inscribed in polygon in parallel rows. Number of rows of cylinder is divisible by two. Pistons (3) in cylinders are connected by means of stocks (4) having slots into which rods (5) are hinged. Rods (5) are connected to balance arms (6). The latter (6) are connected through additional arms by means of piston-rods (7) to opposite lying bell cranks of crankshaft (8). Stocks (4) interact with guides (17). Rocking axes of balance arms (6) are equally spaced from axes of cylinders (2) and are hinged to housing (1).
EFFECT: reducing the volume occupied with ICE.
