FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: rod free piston internal combustion engine is designed for use as a power unit in transport machines, as well as in other mobile and stationary devices. A piston 3 connected to the rod 4 is arranged in a cylinder 2 of casing 1, on which two gear racks 5 are arranged, which engage with gear sectors 6 fixed on shafts 7 kinematically connected to each other by cranks 8 mounted on their ends at the engine output connected by articulated levers 9 to tooth gears 10 engaged with a central gear 11 mounted on engine output shaft 12 together with a flywheel 13.
EFFECT: reduced internal mechanical losses in the engine cylinder-piston group, increased service life of pistons, increased motion speed of pistons inside the cylinders, and increased rotation speed of the output shaft.
