SUBSTANCE: apparatus has cylindrical chamber accommodating infrared radiation source installed along its axis and helical catalytically active component mounted coaxially with the former and provided with turn increasing in thickness towards periphery, at least one of its contour sides being arranged along line complying with equation describing set of curves differently illuminated by linear light source. EFFECT: eliminated overheating of developed surface of catalyzer, improved quality of gas cleaning. 20 cl, 7 dwg
