FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: apparatus for thermocatalytic purification of gas emissions in chemical processes has process-connected heat-exchanger with nozzles for feeding contaminated air and outlet of purified air, an air-heater with a heat source and a catalyst unit which includes a support grid lying across the path of the gas emissions to be purified, said support grid being made from heat-resistant steel with rectangular openings. Folding replaceable cassettes are fitted into the openings, said cassettes being packets of cellular catalysts, laid on the outer surface of several welded, metal frames which are coaxially slotted into each other and freely move in the longitudinal direction and mounted on a support frame made from heat-resistant steel with elements for fastening to the support grid, which enable to adjust the gap between the catalyst layers, which are a base made from a metal or silica net with a deposited active phase. Input ends of the frames are reinforced by rectangular rims welded on their perimetre. Each collected catalyst packet is pressed to the frame by a mesh pad and on the sides, is fastened by a thin heavily doped wire or adhesive.

EFFECT: eliminating bypassing of part of the air to be purified, reduced content of organic impurities and nitrogen oxides in the purified air, higher efficiency of the process and degree of neutralisation of gaseous organic contaminants in industrial emissions with low residual concentrations of nitrogen oxides and carbon monoxide.
