FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: object of this invention is prevention of complications after completion of open-heart operations in deep perfusionless hypothermic protection conditions. This object is accomplished by repeatedly intravenously administering adequate doses of insulin during cardiac activity recovery period. This method prescribes measuring level of glycemia in the end of occlusion period and administering insulin in dose of 0.5 units/kg at glycemia value of 10 to 18 mmol/l and 0.7 units/kg if glycemia value exceeds 18 mmol/l. EFFECT: disclosed method allows preventing post-operative complications associated with disorders in carbohydrate metabolism. 1 tbl
