FIELD: ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: magnetic separator has an open-type electromagnetic system, rotor with vertical pin, working chambers, material feeding system, separated products discharge system, two super conductive open-type magnets with upper and lower horizontal areas. The main pins of the two magnetic systems are aligned, with magnet windings being compensated. The rotor of the separator has three working zones: the upper (first) between horizontal zones of windings and having no ferromagnetic bodies, intermediate (second) between the central zones of windings and having ferromagnetic bodies in the form of corrugated plates, lower (third) which is provided with horizontal grates located in a spaced relation to each other.
