FIELD: repair of internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: device is provided with secondary cover having hole of bearing and centering projection engageable with cylinder; load-bearing unit with hole of bearing and retainers engageable with crank- shaft supports, spindle mounted in holes of bearings which holds chuck with cutting tool secured in it and has end-piece for connection with drive, mainly with domestic electric drill. Secondary cover is sectional in form consisting of base and mounting insert connected by means of rigid detachable joint; load-bearing unit is provided with sleeve whose edge is tightly secured around bearing hole and its interior is filled with lubricant-and-coolant fluid. Base and mounting insert are engageable through centering projection of base made around hole of bearing; mounting insert is provided with brackets received by through openings of base forming sectors of centering projection of secondary cover and hole of spindle bearing; axes of holes of bearings and centering projections lie in one line which coincides with axis of cylinder. Mounting insert is removed after centering the spindle. Centering projection of cover does not close upper strake of cylinder and boring may be performed over entire surface of cylinder.
