FIELD: mining. SUBSTANCE: device for directed breakage of monolithic objects includes draw-apart jaws connected by means of flexible rings, chamber with membrane side walls located between jaws, solid body located inside chamber and system for pressing working liquid into space of chamber. One jaw is sectional in form of wedge pair and has handle installed on external wedge. Jaws are installed for mutual drawing together under the effect of wedge pair and force action on chamber which is made for preliminary compression relative to initial position. Solid body is made in form of rigid insert with length shorter than that of chamber space. Rigid insert is installed by means of spacer flexible members with all-sided clearance relative to inner surface of chamber for limiting length of motion of its membrane walls during preliminary compression. Spacer flexible members are located between end faces of chamber and respective end faces of rigid insert. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 3 dwg
