DEVICE FOR BREAKING DOWN MONOLITHS Russian patent published in 1995 - IPC

Abstract RU 2047763 C1

FIELD: mining industry. SUBSTANCE: device for breaking down monoliths has a supporting stem, flexible working and protective tubes, and end connections. The end connections have a cylindrical body, a bushing, sealing rings, and a nut. The device is provided with a flexible body mounted between the flexible working tube and the flexible protective tube. The device is also provided with resilient locking rings covering butts of the flexible protective tube and the flexible body with the cylindrical body. The resilient locking rings are fabricated for possible increase in diameter. The bushing has a protuberance on its external surface. The end-face of one end of the bushing is rounded, and the opposite end of the bushing has an inner rounding and an outer cone-shaped turning. Each end part of the flexible working tube situated outside the bushing is distorted relative to the rounded end-face to envelop the bushing to the annular protuberance. The sealing rings are located in spaces formed by surfaces of the nut, the supporting stem, the convex part of the distorted flexible working tube, and the cylindrical body. The flexible body is shaped as a thick-walled hollow cylinder. Each resilient sealing ring is a composite thing comprising two concentric thin-walled parts. One part has a protuberance on its end-face touching the end-face of the other part and a retaining ring located in a groove provided in the cylindrical body. Both parts of the resilient sealing rings have longitudinal slits and petals. The petals are wider than the slits. The angular dislocation of the parts is half the slit pitch, and the parts are provided with a retainer. The internal diameter of the resilient sealing rings is not smaller than the external diameter of the cylindrical body of the end connections. One sealing ring has a concave base matching the convex part of the flexible working tube. The nut has an inner turning and a protuberance without thread. EFFECT: simpler design; higher reliability. 5 cl, 4 dwg
