FIELD: biotechnology. SUBSTANCE: proposed strain Streptomyces chromofuscus T-201 is produced of strain Streptomyces chromofuscus T-200 by acting 1,2,7,8-diepoxy octane mutagen and by selecting according to resistance to 2-(4-hydroxyphenylazo)-benzoic acid. Culture medium which is used for biologic synthesis of biotin-binding protein contains (g/l): glucose 50, ammonium sulfate 6, potassium chloride 0.4, magnesium sulfate 0.2, potassium dihydrophosphate 0.4, calcium carbonate 8. Biotin-binding protein is isolated of culture liquid by concentrating on membranes. The process is followed by affine chromatography on imino-biotin sorbent. Purity thus prepared preparation is at least 97 biotin number being not less 16.0. Biotin-binding protein is non-toxic. EFFECT: improves quality of desired protein.
