FIELD: biotechnology. SUBSTANCE: strain Streptomyces pluricolorescens - a producer of polypeptide antibiotic palmiromycin inhibiting the growth of grampositive bacteria. Strain is isolated from sea bottom. Sea bottom sample is ground in water, suspension is sown on agarized medium and incubated at 30 C for 7 days. Strain is deposited at number BKM Ac-1354D. Strain is grown for 5 days on the liquid medium of the following composition, g/l: pepton 5; yeast extract 2.5; glucose 0.1; K₂HPO₄ 0.1; MgSO₄·7H₂O 0.1; 500 ml sea water and 500 ml tap water. Antibiotic is extracted from cultural fluid by chromatography method. The yield of palmiromycin is 6-10 mg/l.
