FIELD: geophysical studies. SUBSTANCE: device has vertical mast with guides, radiation plate, dropping weight with head, impact transducer, weight lifting-dropping mechanism. Weight lifting- dropping mechanism is composed of tongs for weight head gripping with restoring member unit of control over operation of tongs mounted on carriage resting with rollers against guides of mast placed on levers. Unit of control is manufactured in the form of pneumatic cylinder. Impact transducer is coupled to control and synchronization unit. Dropping weight is fabricated in the form of rigid shell with counterweight-unbalanced mass. Shell is filled with loose mass which acoustic stiffness of material is less than acoustic stiffness of material of shell and relation of depth of filling of shell with loose mass to height of weight is half as much as value of relation of densities of materials from which they are composed. Head of weight has conical shape, surfaces of engagement of head and tongs have same curvature. EFFECT: improved operational efficiency. 4 cl, 3 dwg
