FIELD: airborne radars. SUBSTANCE: method involves directing the antenna beam to given j-th direction (width of antenna beam is equal to θ (0.5), ranging the detection sector of radar in each j-th direction during time interval tj,. Number N of possible j-th directions in detection sector (θ total) conforms to equation N q (total) / q (0.5). Detection sector of radar is divided into K sectors which width equals to width sector for receiving signals by average radar. In addition K = θtotalr, width of detection sector of radar conforms to equation where k is number of sector (k 1, 2, K); j is number of positioning of beam in k-th sector (j 1, 2, l); θjk is width of antenna beam for level of half power when beam is directed to j-th direction of k-th sector.
