FIELD: agricultural engineering. SUBSTANCE: milking apparatus comprises a teat cup, a manifold, and a pulsator. A vacuum regulator is installed into a break in the teat cup liner. Said regulator has a partition 10 which divides it into two chambers, has an axial hole and a milk trap 13 incorporating a float 14 ad valve 16 both installed on rod. Upper part and bottom of milk trap have calibrated holes. The valve is positioned in the chamber above the partition and can shut off its axial hole while the lower part of the float has a valve 19 which opens and closes the calibrated hole 20 in the bottom of the milk trap 13. Milk drains from said trap through a hole 18 and calibrated hole 20. As milking efficiency drops, the teat cups are shifted over to a low-vacuum operation until they are removed from the teats.
