SUBSTANCE: apparatus for mounting a rod of a mandral of tube cold rolling mill includes the carriage 1, carrying the chuck 2 with the rod 3 and the mandrel 4, mounted in the guides 5 of the frame 6, and a mechanism for moving it, combined with a mechanism for taking off plays, being in the form of separate hydraulic motors 9, 10 for each screw 7, 8, connected by respective worm 11, 12 with the hydraulic motors. One of the screws, for example the screw 7, is provided by the pickup 15, kinematically joined with it, for reading rotation angle values of the screw.
