FIELD: rocketry and space engineering. SUBSTANCE: to make ice in ice pack on board space vehicle with air lock chamber whose axis of symmetry passes through outer hatch of air lock chamber and coincides with transverse axis of space vehicle, water is cooled in ice pack through preliminary placing of ice pack in air lock chamber and interior of air lock chamber is brought in communication with outside space at moment of orientation of space vehicle when transverse axis of space vehicle passes through center of masses of the Sun; facing the Sun is that side of space vehicle which is opposite to the side on which hatch of air lock chamber is located. Cooling is continued within rated time till freezing. Device for realization of this method has above-mentioned air lock chamber in which container with convex cover is coaxially arranged; convex cover faces outer hatch of air lock chamber. Mounted in heat-insulated housing of container is disk spring made in form of disk whose surface is equidistant relative to surface of cover and provided with flexible plates supported by housing bottom. Cover and disk spring form chamber for laying ice packs. Mechanism for locking the container in air lock chamber is provided with thermostat. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 3 cl, 3 dwg
