FIELD: rolling. SUBSTANCE: apparatus for applying grease has a cylindrical housing, in which a grease briquette is coaxially arranged. The housing is fluid-tightly closed at one side by a cover. Between the cover and an end of the grease briquette a calibrated plate is placed. A system for feeding a cooling pressurized liquid in to a cavity between the cover and the plate and devices, limiting a stroke of the plate towards a roll upon minimum abrasion of the briquette, are also provided. The calibrated plate has a groove, passing along a perimeter of its lateral surface for arranging an annular spring, providing fluid-tightness between walls of the cylinder and the plate. The plate also has slots, made in its body. An additional plate in the form of joined sectors, placed on a surface of the calibrated plate coaxially with the last, is being in engagement with it at a side of the cover. A number of sectors of the additional plate is equal to a number of the slots. The sectors are mounted with the same intervals, being less, than spacing between the slots. A surface of the calibrated plate, engaging with the briquette, is corrugated one. EFFECT: enhanced structure of the apparatus. 2 cl, 5 dwg
