FIELD: chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: product: pentafluorodichloropropane. Reagent 1: dichlorofluoromehane. Reagent 2: 2-tetrafluoroethylene. Reaction conditions: at 0-120 C in the presence of catalyst Lewis acid of the formula AlCl_xF_yO₂ where x + y + 2z 3; x is zero or less but less than 3; y is zero or less but less than 3; z is zero or less but less than 3/2 under condition that at least one of y and z is not zero, or in the presence of anhydrous aluminium chloride. Process is performed using solvent, mainly pentafluorodichloropropane, at continuous or batch reagent feeding, or at continuous or batch removal of synthesized 1,1,1,2,2-pentafluoro-3,3-dichloropropane and 1,1,1,2,2-pentafluoro-1,3-dichloropropane from reaction mixture.
