FIELD: polymer chemistry. SUBSTANCE: halogen-containing polyether has structural units having formula where a,b, c,d,e and f are integer from 0 to 25 and they obey equations 2≤a+b+c+d+e+f≤200 and 1≤a+c+d+f, where R1 is fluorine, iodine, C3F7O; R2 is lower alkyl optionally comprising chlorine or fluorine, lower alkyloxy optionally comprising fluorine. Polyether may be obtained by polymerization of 2,2,3,3-tetrafluorosectane ring together with its decyclization, the process is carried out in the presence of initiator of polymerization. Thus polyether having structural units with formula -(CH2CF2CF2O)a (where a is as mentioned above) is obtained. If it is necessary then polyether is affected by fluoridation and/or by chlorination.
