FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: engine has martensite drives constructed as a system of members 1 made of a material having thermomechanical shape memory arranged in rows and defining telescopically interconnected sections together with frames 2 and 3 positioned inside housing 4. One of the end sections of each pair of the drives are fixed and the other one is coupled with flexible connection 6 through transmitting member 5. The flexible connection encloses pulleys 7 and 8 and pulleys 9 and 10 mounted on common shaft 11 clockwise and counterclockwise. The engine also has tank 12 filled with cooling liquid connected with the martensite drives through discharging branch pipes 13 and pumps 14, supplying branch pipes 15, switch elements connected with a control unit which is in communication with pumps 14, drives, and end switches. Each martensite drive has spring drive 21 secured to the rod. Axles of transmitting pulleys 7 and 8 are perpendicular to the plane passing through the axis of common shaft 11 which bears on supports 23. EFFECT: improved design. 2 cl, 3 dwg
