FIELD: rubber industry. SUBSTANCE: a rubber modifier is used by using resorcinol. Resorcinol is subjected to dispersion with polyhexamethylene guanidine hydrochloride having a molecular weight of from 350-16000 to plastic state at 52 to 80 C. The dispersion occurs in the presence of a C10-C27 hydrocarbons in an amount of 1.2 to 4.8 wt of the total weight of the starting resorcinol and polyhexamethylene quanidine hydrochloride. The reaction mixture is treated with an alkylphenolamine resin octophore(N) having a molecular weight of 1000 to 1500 and alkylphenol formaldehyde resin (octophore 10S) or amberol ST-137 or a mixture thereof. The process is carried out at a resorcinol to polyhexamethylene guanidine chloride to phenol resin weight ratio of 1:0.1-5.0:0.5-8.0. The characteristic of the product: green granules, dusting is 0.09-0.17% The strength of bond of modifier containing breaker rubber with brass plated metal cord by the H- method after gas-vapor ageing at 90 C for 72 hours is 22.0-26.7 kH/m, after boiling in 5% NaCl at 100 C for 6 hours is 23.5-30.3 kH/m; the factor of stability of adhesion bond to steam is 0.7-0.86, to a NaCl solution is 0.74-0.87, to temperature is 0.83-0.94. EFFECT: more efficient preparation process. 1 tbl
