FIELD: textile industry. SUBSTANCE: cellulose-containing textile material is activated with low-temperature plasma of glow discharge in air or oxygen medium at current 50-80 A, voltage 430-500 V and pressure 70-80 Pa for 60-90 s. Material is impregnated with aqueous solution containing, g/l: hydrogen peroxide 6-8; sodium hydroxide 3-4; sodium silicate or metasilicate 8-12; anthraquinone 2-monosulfoacid sodium salt 1.0-1.5; urea 8-12, and surface-active substance 0.5-1.0. Material is stimmed with saturated steam for 20-30 min and washed. Quality properties of whitened cotton and mixed fabrics: whiteness degree is 81.9-82.7% capillarity is 137-164 mm, absolute absence of mechanical impurities. Stimming time is decreased by 2-3 times, souring before whitening is excluded. EFFECT: improved method of bleaching. 2 tbl
