FIELD: paper industry. SUBSTANCE: textural paper is impregnated with 5-9% polyvinyl alcohol solution containing hydroxymethyl- or methoxymethyl-derivatives of melamine at concentration 0.05-5.0% of polyvinyl alcohol mass (by dry residue). Drying impregnated paper is carried out in air flow at temperature 100 C up to the content of volatile substance 10% (not above). Calendering paper breadth is carried out by 5-9-fold passing paper breadth through the calender shaft at 100-180 C at linear shaft pressure 30-50 kgf/cm. After calendering the additional thermal treatment of paper breadth can be carried out at 100-180 C. Before additional treatment varnish is applied on the paper breadth. Method is used for preparing decorative-protective film. EFFECT: improved method of film preparing. 3 cl, 2 tbl
