FIELD: quantum electronics. SUBSTANCE: process of manufacture of cathode for CO2 laser consists in mixing of powder of copper and copper oxide, in its formation by pressing and baking by heating in oxygen-containing atmosphere at temperature 280-300 C for the course of 25-30 min. Catalytic matter based on palladium and silver is applied to outer nonworking surface of cathode, is dried at temperature 100-120 C for the course of 100-150 min and sintering of catalytic matter is conducted by heating of cathode at temperature 530-550 C for the course of 15-20 min. Thus manufactured cathode has porous structure which provides for larger surface of catalytic coat based on palladium and silver and for interaction of molecules of CO and O2 on this surface which considerably enhanced regeneration rate of CO2.
