FIELD: absorption-oxidizing gas cleaning processes. SUBSTANCE: method of gas cleaning of hydrogen sulfide consists in absorption by an aqueous-alkaline solution containing a complex of iron with ethylenediaminetetracetate and a stabilizer, and subsequent recovery of the solution by blow-through with air, a mixture of di-and triethanolamine is used as stabilizer, and the process is conducted at solution pH-value equal to 8.5 to 10. 15 to 45 g. l of solution of mixture of di-and triethanolamine is used in the process. Besides, use is made of a mixture of di-and triethanolamine in mass relation 1: (1-3), which is the still residue of vacuum distillation of products of ammonia oxiethylation. EFFECT: reduced loss of absorption solution, degree of equipment corrosion, as well as widened range of used stabilizers. 3 cl, 2 tbl
