SUBSTANCE: device has bed, movable desk for fastening billet executing reciprocating motion, carriage having fixed unit mounted on the bed and having movably mounted desk, instrument mounted on the support desk having rotation drive and reciprocating motion drive engageable with the carriage. The fixed unit of the carriage is itself a guide which is at least partially curvilinear. One of the versions of carriage guide is designed to be a flat cam engageable with the carriage desk by means of rollers. The cam working surface outline corresponds to that of the billet surface to be worked. EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness in drilling and milling wood billets. 2 cl, 3 dwg
