FIELD: producing of zirconium dioxide. SUBSTANCE: zirconium oxalate is precipitated of aqueous solution of zirconium salt, mass ratio of zirconium salt (as calculated for zirconium dioxide) and oxalic acid being 1:1-1.1:1. The process is carried out in the presence of 2-5 mass of nitric acid, it is followed by washing with dilute oxalic acid. Thus prepared precipitate is affected by two-stepped heat treatment. The first step is carried out within 2-2.5 h at 200-230 C, the second step takes place from 200-230 C to 900 C, temperature being increased by 2 C/min.
