FIELD: production of substrate for magnetic carrier. SUBSTANCE: method involves subjecting cast billets to hot pressing at 450-550 C; annealing pressed semi-finished products at 450-550 C holding for 4-16 h and cooling in water; effectuating hot rolling of semi-finished products at 350-450 C with total deformation level of at least 70% at rolling finishing temperature of 250 C; conducting cold rolling of sheets with total deformation level of at least 80% providing preliminary annealing at 150-250 C and holding time of 1-5 h; cutting out disks and subjecting them to ultimate annealing at 250-400 C with holding time of 1-5 h. EFFECT: provision for obtaining substrates for magnetic carriers with homogeneous fine-grained structure and uniform distribution of dispersed particles of intermetallides. 1 tbl
