FIELD: applied geodesy. SUBSTANCE: when testing theodolite tool is set at specified distance from object, principal axis of rotation of tool is set into vertical position, telescope is aimed at elevated point. With alidate part fixed telescope is inclined to horizontal position of its axis of sight and point at which center of grid of hairs is projected is marked. Then telescope is passed through zenith, alidate part is disconnected and turned through 180 deg, telescope is aimed at same point and bubble of level gauge is set strictly at zero point. Then telescope is inclined to horizontal position of its axis of sight and second point at which center of grid of hairs in projected is marked. Section connecting first and second points is divided in two parts and telescope is aimed at elevated point after this. EFFECT: increased productivity and precision of testing. 1 dwg
