FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves determining procoagulant activity of monocytes, and proteolytic activity of leukocytes in pleural exudate and procoagulant activity of macrophages. If the exudate leukocyte activity is high or normal and the macrophage activity is present as well as leukocyte proteolytic activity is lowered and macrophage influence on plasma coagulation activity is of different direction and procoagulant activity of monocytes is absent, favorable course of the disease development is to be predicted. Unfavorable course is predicted, if proteolytic leukocyte activity is lowered, anticoagulant activity of macrophage and procoagulant activity of monocyte are observed. EFFECT: reliability of prediction method.
