FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves exposing the injured portion of intestine, carrying out its visual examination concerning mucous membrane color, intestine peristalsis frequency and blood vessel pulsation, ligating mesenteric artery arcades supplying blood to intact portions of the intestine on both sides of the injured intestine portion. Distinct line of demarcation is formed between the healthy and injured intestine tissue and the boundary separating the viable and nonviable segments of the intestine is determined.
