FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: device has a gas cutting table, a gas cutter mounted on a carriage for displacement along the guides and cross-sectional relative to the ingot and the feeler gauge connected through a driving gear with the mechanism of displacing the carriages along the guides. The device has a mechanism for rotating the guides. The gas cutting table is made stationary in the form of a common framework. The guides are made roll-over so that they can be fixed by catches in the extreme positions. The axis of rotation of the roll-over guides is perpendicular to the axis of the cutter displacement. The mechanism for rotating the guides is made in the form of a releasing spring one end of which is fastened to the carriage and the other end to the common frame of the gas cutting table. The mechanism for displacing the carriages along the guides is made in the form of a pusher assembled on the common frame for interacting with the screw having closed-type right and left threads, and with driving solenoids.
