FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: ingot mold with hemispherical cavity in its bottom part has body with wide and narrow faces, journals positioned on faces and upper thickened beard. Outer surface of body has bevels extending from lower base to the level, at which cavity acquires hemispherical shape in the vicinity of face joints. Lower base is made in the form of irregular octagon with the length of narrow and wide faces equal to 0.58-0.68 and 0.14-0.22 of respective lengths of its axes. Upper thickened bead has bosses positioned in the vicinity of journal conjunction and having the width of 0.42-0.50 of narrow face width in upper base and thickness of 0.05-0.07 of ingot mold wall in upper base.
