FIELD: ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method for steel making in 100-t electric arc furnaces includes charging of metal burden, melting and introduction of slag-forming constituents. Novelty consists in that used in form of CaO-containing material is limestone which is introduced in course of melting of the first portion of metal burden in mixture with fluorspar in the amount of 2-4 t of blend and with component ratio of (10-15):1, and the second portion of limestone of 4-6 t is added in melting of the second portion of metal burden at the rate of 0.15-0.25 t/min. In so doing, supplied to zone of introduction of slag-forming constituents is oxygen and/or gas-oxygen fuel. EFFECT: higher efficiency.
