FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention concerns ferrous metallurgy. Particularly, it concerns methods of steel melting in arc furnaces. Method includes feeding into arc steel-smelting furnace of scrap metal and liquid cast iron, melting, oxidation period, steel smelting by series, tapping with slag and part of metal reservation in furnace. To the residual in furnace slag and part of metal it is filled up liquid cast iron at a quantity 15-70% of charging mass. Further it is filled up scrap metal at a quantity 30-85% of charging mass in the mix with scale from gaseous oxygen cut machinery at a quantity 1.5-4% of charging mass. It is implemented oxygen blow with consumption 50-140 m3/hour per tonne of metal stock till carbon content not less than 0.10% and temperature not more than 1720°C. Into casting ladle while discharging it is added calcium carbide at a quantity 0.5-3% of steel mass in ladle or manganese and siliferous alloys at a rate of manganese and silicon introduction per average content in finished steel and lime at a rate of 3-12 kg/tonne of liquid steel. Further finishing is implemented at aggregate ladle-furnace. Method allows reducing of melting duration, reducing of power consumption.
EFFECT: reducing of melting duration, reducing of power consumption.
